The Rewire team ran to raise money for Headway
On Sunday the 8th of June, we ran Hull 10k to raise money for Headway- the brain injury association and completed it with smiles on all our faces.
Thanks to your generous donations, we raised £320 for Headway, and we couldn’t be more thankful!
At Rewire we know how crucial exercise is in recovery from traumatic brain injuries. People with a traumatic brain injury often struggle to reflect back on their progress whilst recovering, but fitness is a way that they can physically measure the progress they have made as well as being able to see how much they are improving in their recovery journey. For example, not being able to walk after a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to being able to climb the stairs in their house again.
Races like this one are not only a measure of your physical strength but also your mental strength and resilience that builds and becomes stronger each time you push yourself. Having goals such completing a 10k race or being able to climb the stairs again will contribute positively towards someone recovering from a brain injury. Which is exactly what Rewire helps you achieve.
The race itself was great to take part in with its flat course and the lovely weather we had on Sunday morning made it a wonderful event. As well as all the support from the people that came to watch us and other spectators during the race which made the atmosphere even better. We’re excited to work with Headway again, set new goals, and raise even more funds for their vital work.
